I have never had success with growing sweetcorn -- British summers have been too cool or wet so I was a little trepidatious when growing corn was suggested by Mrs. Kent. The NJ sunshine and Ist grade obviously have the magic combination as these cobs are growing splendidly and I harvested 3 beauties yesterday. You can probably tell how happy I am by the smile on my face...
Camping faculty and families took produce home and I have taken beans and some corn back to try with the family and freeze the rest for our fall food tasting. Oh - and Mrs. Weed finally got her much longed for garden flowers for her front desk!
